Book Description:

Dearhart Clan is a series of fast paced books that dabble in the world of paranormal and remain in the erotic pulse of what can only be classified as a primal fantasy. If it’s a typical romance you’re looking for you won’t find it in this series.

Eri Nelson writes in a darker world where heat and need are the forefront for a slipping existence. There is not time for all the tenderness love deserves but if you’re imprinted to another you are far beyond those mortal requirements.

Our author is driven by swift action packed intrigues that often leave you wanting more. As she writes each new book into the series the number of pages might increase but the action never lets you feel the increasing distance to the final page.

The Call From Within is Eri Nelson’s first look into this series. It is here that we meet Owen our Pack’s clan leader. He has been driven by what is expected of an alpha. Facts that were told through the decades all but look like fiction to him now. So he never dared to believe in fate and only let duty push him forth. Although now his resolves make no sense and it took little to no time at all in showing him through the lust he feels for another.

Kristen Still bares the imprinted mark to our handsome alpha. However he wasn’t the first to notice what she was and it’s that bedding of prior passions that control her new weakness. Yes, Owen is pushed by jealousy to possess what his four footed insight tells him is his.

A former distraction wanted more than heated moments with Kristen. In her he saw a stronger life force for his young and if Brinston Drake must he would take what he needs from her. He just did not foresee another finding her as well.

While the rest of Eri Nelson’s cast of characters find their selves caught up in furthering personal existences. Another by the name of Wash seeks to use their distractions as his gain. A rogue sent to track and update, Wash is tested by his hatred and desire for revenge. He’ll have it but not as quickly as he would like. But soon enough Owen will slip farther into his madness over a bitch in heat. Then Wash perhaps can use the heated vixen to distract both her and the alpha into their future demise.

Excerpt:

~Every hair on Kristen’s arms raised as the eerie cries from their pursuers reached her ears. Seeing Owen tense told her he was gearing up to battle.

Gulping big clumps of fear down her throat, a coarse cry came from Kristen. “Is it Brinston?”

“If that’s the ex”—he spit out the ex part as if the whole knowledge that she could once bed a Shapeshifter revolted him—“then yes.”

Foot to pedal, Owen pushed the gas on the old ford to its max. There was no way the old rusted-out bucket was going to run much farther ahead of the herd of shifters hot on their tail.

Claws on the roof screeched forth like nails on a chalkboard. They were on them, and it was a matter of the time before the truck would be thrown to the side of the road.

A figure close to the look of a rhino came in so fast that it crashed into the driver’s side of the Ford, knocking the panels inward. Kristen screamed in horror with the sight of the blood running down Owen’s left side. Now she was pissed off; how dare they touch him? An instant reflection of possessiveness’s of him was clearing the way for her rage as she looked to the floor of the cab for a weapon. Her fingers felt their way to something metallic. When lifting her prize, she found herself quite proud to be gripping a grease-covered crowbar. However, just as her courage was lifted by the odd shaped metal weapon, the large plate-protected creature once again drove into their vehicle, lifting it up off it’s axles. With one heave of its mighty head, it sent them flying over the edge of the road. Rolling repeatedly, they went, stopping only when they collided with a long-standing grand pine.

Bloodied and crash-ridden, the two found they were looking at each other. Owen, gazing on at Kristen clutching a blackened crowbar, said, “I don’t suppose if I asked you to stay here you would listen?”

“Not like hell,” she replied. If he were going out there, then so was she. Losing him was not an option!

Book Description:

The DHC, Dearhart Clan Series, is a continuing saga that borders on several genres to create what I like to class as dark primal adult paranormal fantasies. In my opinion, the DHC is very erotic but does not fully go into erotica for there are many more aspects I like to let the reader discover from the characters.

Once again, you will encounter Owen Dearhart and his mate Kristen who for a second time find themselves facing obstacles that not only intervene but take away what Owen now finds worth more than the pack itself.

As per request Thomas Dearhart is sent by Owen to track down what they think is a rogue Werewolf. All the while unbeknownst to him, one of their own is taken from the pack. However with knowledge not known a mission at hand takes Thomas finding himself discovering more than what they assumed was a wolf gone astray. It will be this newly discovered venture that will put heat in his loins and a refusal to fully except what is in front of him.

With what seems like destiny fulfilling before him, Wash withers in revenge’s control and takes it upon himself to go further in the mouth of evil for support. So with vengeance as his goal Wash goes back to Opts where Yvone fully intends to arbitrate his ruthless control over not only the situation but Wash as well.

As a cast of characters emerge fighting not only their inner turmoil but those wishing to take them down it should be of no surprise that a few extra faces are now tossed into this dark and desperate world of the unknowns, where the urges of the beast weigh even heavier on their still looming demise.

Book Description:

This third book is far darker than its predecessors, venturing down a path that will ultimately have readers at the door to another series, INK.

Owen and Kristen wage the war of captivities' control and fight all obstacles to find their ways back to each other. However, neither will ever be the same and brink on the lines of death to see each other once again.

Julia caught in loss will form a bond with an unexpected new life now swaddled around her. While Thomas resolves his needs and wants, to having it all with his mate.

From Forest's winter attire, comes a new face that hides well and kills even better. But she will not hide as her destiny arrives on the back of a wolf named Bry. For she and he were destined to carry the upcoming change of the werewolves world.

As revenge smolders still in the mind of Wash, he will be faced with the battle of his life and more importantly the man who will soon control all the werewolves’ fates.

My Thoughts:

I read all three books. My favorite was the first because it seemed to have the most romantic type feel to it of the three. I like romance in my books, what can I say?

The Call From Within was the first book. It focuses on Owen the Alpha finding his mate Kristen. She doesn't seem to know what he is, or what she is for that matter either!

This book sets up the foundation for this series and ends on a solid note. :-) It was a really fast read.

All of the books have some violence, lots of steam, some suspense, action, and multiple POVs. Be warned these are not the typical werewolf books with romantic notions and happy characters

In the first book we meet a traitor wolf that they call Wash. He is hell bent on getting revenge against Owen for turning him into a were.

In the second book, Double Call From Desire, we are introduced to new characters. Julia and Thomas are two key players. He is obnoxiously anti-mate. He does the deed but does Not want to be tied to her. :-( I don't like him.

In the third book, Heated Calls From Change,  We meet see yet another female introduced and a male claim her as his.

In all of the books, the POV jumps around from Owen to Kristen, Wash and others too. It wasn't bad, just a tad disorienting at first. The language had a historical feel to it so that was an adjustment for me as well.

I found all three books to be really quickly read. None of them had a dull moment. :-) I would have liked them more if they had some romance. Even without the romance, I managed to read them all. :-)

If you like historical type paranormal / fantasy books then you should give these books a consideration.

I received ebooks of all three in exchange for my honest opinion.

To have and to howl…

Logan Black, former Marine and bodyguard for the Seattle Wolf Pack, hates weddings and has no plan to walk the path to matrimonial misery. But when he’s hired to protect a hot-to-trot wedding planner with a werewolf stalker, he’s forced to put his feelings aside. Not such an easy task when the damsel can turn him on with a single smoldering glance.

Wedding planner Veronica Vale knows werewolves exist, but hates them. One bit her sister, changing their lives forever. When a sexy Marine shows his gorgeous face at one of her wedding appointments, Veronica finds it hard to focus on the task at hand.

The chemistry drawing Logan and Veronica together seems fated, but with Logan’s playboy attitude, Veronica’s hatred for werewolves, and a stalker lurking in the shadows, these two need more than passion to keep them together.

FOUR WEDDINGS AND A WEREWOLF excerpt

“If I ever fall in love with a werewolf,” Veronica said, as she stared at a drunken wedding guest being escorted out of Seward Park, “shoot me.”

“Famous last words.”

Veronica Vale, wedding planner extraordinaire, folded her arms across her chest and gazed up at the cords of white lights streaming over the dance floor. “I don’t care how powerful they think they are, take them out of wolf form and they’re nothing but overgrown dogs in need of a muzzle.”

“Ouch.” Heather, her assistant wedding coordinator, eyed the bridal party as they waltzed to a beautiful rendition of “Are You Lonesome Tonight?” Huffing, Heather leaned over and bumped Veronica playfully in the shoulder. “Remind me not to get on your bad side.”

“I’m sorry, but there’s no excuse to get all worked up, especially at a wedding. Just goes to prove that they’re animals. Completely incapable of controlling their anger.” Veronica’s thoughts whirled around the incident that’d barely been avoided. Mr. Grady, the groom’s canine uncle, was offended that he’d been removed from the lineup of people to toast the bride and groom. The order came straight from the groom, but she was the one who had to relay the message and take the brunt of Mr. Grady’s anger. Veronica’s heart pounded in her chest as she strained to lower her voice. “If we hadn’t caught Mr. Grady when we did, seconds before he shifted, he would’ve burst through his tuxedo in front of everyone. Body hair suit?” She scoffed. “Not exactly wedding couture.”

Heather laughed. Veronica was grateful she had a friend to talk to about the werewolves in Seattle. If she had to bear the burden on her own, she didn’t know how she’d handle it. As it was, thinking about her older sister, Leah, being attacked last year and turning into a wolf made Veronica’s arm hair stand on end. It didn’t matter that Leah had accepted the hand she’d been dealt and fallen in love with a born werewolf from the Seattle Wolf Pack.

They were unnatural and had serious anger issues that turned them into beasts. If it weren’t for Leah getting info from her werewolf fiance, Jake, and tipping Veronica off as to which wedding guests could shift into the mangy things at the Grady wedding, Veronica wouldn’t have known to watch out for the groom’s uncle in the first place. There were a handful of other wolves attending the Grady wedding—from what her sister had said—and Veronica had assigned Heather to keep a close eye on all of them.

They couldn’t be trusted.

With a start, Heather whirled around and leaned into Veronica’s shoulder. “Don’t look now, but he’s staring at you again.”

Veronica scanned the dance floor, and as a couple spun by, her gaze caught on the guy who stood on the opposite side of the floor, the one who’d been checking her out all evening. His body was slender but powerful, with square, broad shoulders that tapered down to narrow hips. His tuxedo enhanced his frame, hugging his biceps and pulling at the seam in his groin. The way he stood, with his arms folded over his chest and his feet shoulder-width apart, screamed dominance. He had a body that made Veronica’s thoughts nosedive from vanilla to downright dirty.

Veronica’s breath hitched and she glanced away, studying the DJ as if she hadn’t noticed him, yet.

“He hasn’t taken his eyes off you all night,” Heather continued. “Maybe he’s your secret admirer!”

“You really think so?” Veronica had been getting notes and flowers for weeks, but had no clue who sent them. It was thrilling, knowing someone out there cared enough to surprise her that way. “But wait, I don’t know that guy over there. From the sound of the notes, my admirer has met me before.”

“Okay, maybe he’s a stranger who thinks you’re hot. Either way, you have to go say something.”

“Umm, that’s a no.” Veronica pretended to laugh as the song changed to something more upbeat. “He’s probably looking at you.”

“Please. If I wanted to nail a guy like that I’d have to stand as far away from you as possible so there wouldn’t be any distractions. In case you haven’t looked in the mirror in a while, you kinda steal the show.”

Heather gave Veronica a once-over, adding an eyebrow wiggle for dramatic presentation. She got an A for effort, but Veronica wasn’t buying it. If she was as hot as Heather always insinuated, it wouldn’t have been months since the last time Veronica rolled over and fetched a bone.

Feeling nervous, Veronica adjusted her simple black dress and crossed her feet at the ankles. “Thank you, but now’s not the time for personal business. We can talk about that in two nanoseconds when the reception is over.”

“You know, the one major plus to planning weddings is all kinds of hot, single guys show up, and I’ve never seen you take advantage of it. Not once. It’s okay to mix business with pleasure, you know.”

Veronica sighed and fidgeted with the spaghetti strap that’d slipped off her shoulder. “It’s never okay to mix the two. Besides, there is more than one good thing about my job.”

“Free drinks?” Heather swiped a champagne flute off the tray of a passing server and nodded in thanks.

“No”—Veronica let her gaze skim the dance floor, from the couples moving in time to each other, to the white lights crossing overhead, to the moonlight-tipped waves of Lake Washington shimmering in the distance—“you get to witness really great love. Think about it, Heather. This couple will remember today as the day they were blissfully happy. Today is the day they love each other the most, when everything is perfect and magical. When things get tough, they’ll think back to this. It’s kind of special to think that I—we, had a hand in it.”

“You are kind of a wedding genius, and I’ll scream your praises to everyone I meet,” Heather said, sipping on her drink and turning back around. “But if you wanted to bark up that guy’s tree at the end of the night, I wouldn’t tell a soul.”

My Thoughts:

This is the second book in the Seattle Wolf Pack series. It can easily stand alone. I haven't read book one yet but I will.

Logan doesn't believe in weddings. He thinks the participants are all deluding themselves. Imagine his disdain when he has to "babysit" Veronica who happens to be a wedding coordinator.

Veronica absolutely loves weddings. She feels lucky to have a hand in one of the happiest moments of peoples lives. She hopes to have her own HEA one day.

Two more opposite views on weddings there could not be. However, there is more to life than weddings and their feelings about them. Like Veronica's stalker, for instance. She thinks it's a secret admirer but there is more to it than meets the eye. Her soon to be brother in law (a werewolf) hires his bff Logan (also a wolf) to be Veronica's secret bodyguard. They decide not to tell her that he is a wolf because she is very prejudiced against them. You can imagine the problems this might create when she does find out!

When something happens and he loses his anonymity, things between them start to heat up. He tries to put the breaks on the attraction though and the two spend a lot of time riling each other up! lol!

I  really liked this book, from the title to the ending. Four Weddings and a Werewolf had some humor, suspense, action, romance and some sexy scenes too! What's not to like? ;-)

I received an ebook in exchange for my honest opinion. I really liked it and I could easily recommend this to werewolf lovers.
