March Wrap Up and April Comment Incentive

Miki is once again our MVC for March! Congratulations Miki! I'll be in touch. :-)

I have decided to add a new twist to the Comment Incentive Giveaway.

It will stay the same except, the prize will now be the winner's choice of book from those we discussed during the month.

For those of you who are new to this giveaway, it is pretty simple. The giveaway will remain open for the entire month. The link can be found at the top of my page for easy access! Each post will entered on the giveaway form. Most posts give you two chances to get points. :-)

You can get one point just for commenting. Easy peasy! While every comment counts, I hope that you will be more original than just saying this sounds good all of the time!

The second way to earn points is to share the post. You can get three points for sharing the post in addition to the one for commenting.

You can enter up till the last day of the month. So even if you can't stop by each day, you can still take part!

I appologize for not answering your comments as quickly as I usually do the last week or so. With the holiday and the kids home from school, I was a tad distracted (to say the least).

Thank you to all those who entered my giveaways this month especially those who took the time to comment and enter the Incentive giveaway.

Here is a recap on some of the winners from my last few contests:

The Lunar Love winner was Cricket and she choose Frost Burned.

The winner of the Lucky in Love Giveaway was Jennifer W. and she choose Walking Disaster.

The winner of my Spring Cleaning giveaway was Megan K. who chose The Man Must Marry.

There were a whole bunch of other winners from the other giveaways not sponsored by me. All of the winners responded and should have received their prizes or at least correspondance about receiving them. All of the winners can be found on the giveaway form for that giveaway. As soon as the winner responds to my email, I publish their name.

Congratulations to all of the winners!

Good Luck!

Here is an excerpt:

Aedan paused an inch from Rhosewen’s face, searching for unwillingness, but there wasn’t a refusal to find, only a subtle parting of the plump, pink lips he could no longer resist.

Their first kiss was unhurried, intense and more meaningful than any before it. Eager to accept and prolong, they held each other tightly, memorizing and savoring every taste and feel, every second of every sensation.

By the time they stopped to breathe, they were bathed in moonlight.

“I want to see you again,” Aedan whispered, keeping his fingers buried in soft spirals. He wanted to see her every day for the rest of his life. He wanted to kiss her like that every morning and every night. He wanted to wake up to her aqua eyes forever.

“I’d like that, too,” Rhosewen replied, “but I don’t know if it’s a good idea.”

“I think it’s the best idea I’ve ever had,” he countered.

“We barely know each other,” she argued.

“I’m trying to remedy that,” he returned.

“I’m leaving in a week, Aedan.”

“Are you trying to convince me?” he asked. “Or yourself?”

She didn’t answer, and Aedan took her silence as a good sign. “Have you ever been to the Devil’s Den Nature Preserve?” he asked, keeping her pressed against him, terrified to let go.

“No, but I hear it’s beautiful.”

“It is,” he confirmed. “We could make it there in about an hour and a half. Will you let me take you?”

“When?”

“Tomorrow. We could fly over before sunrise and spend the day there.” He held his breath, waiting for her answer.

Here's an excerpt:

Sophie turned and looked directly into his dark blue eyes, sizing him up.

“Mmmm . . . a big, strong guy like you can surely handle him while I check in,” she said, handing him the dog before he could protest.

As soon as he gathered the distressed dog on his lap and made a space for himself on the bench, it promptly urinated on his very neatly pressed dress pants. One of the clinic staff people rushed over with paper towels and a spray bottle of disinfectant, and Sophie unsuccessfully hid her laugh behind her hand at the way the man was holding the dog under its front legs like it was a smelly baby, his arms outstretched as far as they would go.

Though she wanted nothing more than to snatch up the wiggling dog and send the nerve-jarring hunk on his way, Sophie held her ground. It was far more interesting to see what he would do next. She predicted he would make up a bogus excuse and be out of the clinic in a heartbeat – Sophie was one hundred percent sure this man did not get urinated on too often.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

I write the kinds of books I love to read. The quirky characters in my romance novels experience angst, conflict, mostly great sex, and always get their "happily ever after." In my mainstream fiction, ordinary woman experience angst, conflict, and occasional great sex, but they also get embroiled in struggles against extraordinary odds, and I don't promise a happy ending. I also love thrillers, but I don't write those. I live in Los Angeles with my husband, son, and a whole lot of pets. When I'm not hanging out in Hollywood, I'm eating my way through Budapest.

This book was fun to read. I read it pretty quickly.

I Loved, Loved, Loved Ryan and his family! For me, they made the story. :D

The romance in this book was both sweet and Hot in parts.

I would definitely recommend this book to all adults who like romance with some sizzle. ;-)

I received a copy of this book from Goddess Fish in exchange for my honest opinion. I really liked it and I hope that there will be a sequel!

Do you like dogs?

Book #1

It’s two weeks before Triss turns 18, and her world is about to change into the most magical one imaginable as she readies herself to enter The Witch Avenue Order... that is until her mother’s disappearance. Instead of celebrating her transformation, she finds herself spreading rose petals into her mother’s empty grave.

When Logan, her best friend from junior high, moves back to town for college, he vows to help her find the answers she so desperately seeks surrounding her mother’s disappearance. As they begin uncovering clues, it becomes apparent that the life of white magic they both grew up loving is not what the majority practices, and their lives are in danger.

With a haunting feeling that her mother may still be alive, she begins to hear a call to the wilderness. Triss realizes that in order to find the answers she needs, she must learn the ways of her ancestors and become the hunter, not the hunted before it’s too late, and she becomes part of the lonely souls.

Book #2

The realm of Altered Souls brings nothing but unrest, deceit, and pain forcing Triss to come face to face with heartbreak from her past.

Facing a betrayal like never before, Triss questions everything she thought she knew about her family, coven, and abilities.

With the help of Logan, she embarks on a journey enabling her to confront the dark side of magic and the person who controls it. Realizing Triss’s ancestors have been seduced for centuries by the dark side, Triss and Logan must ensure no more in their world fall victim to the realm of Altered Souls, even if that means ending the ones they love.

Book #3

Triss and Logan’s love is becoming stronger by the day as they harness the powers between them, but will that make them blind to the evil they’re facing?

After uncovering startling information about her family, Triss is determined to right the wrongs of her ancestors. Triss and Logan uncover who has infiltrated the covens across the globe, and they realize the plans of the dark side are far more sinister than they’d ever imagined.

As the power of this hidden world is exposed, Triss learns her role in the covens. With Logan, Dace and Bakula’s assistance, Triss is now able to fully realize the abilities her ancestors have given her.

It won’t be long until the dark forces regain their strength, especially as their leader, Eben, continues his quest for a power that can never be revoked. Triss must stop him before it is too late.

They have two English Bulldogs that are the sweetest bullies in the world, and they use their cuteness to get what they want. Karice loves the snow and gravitates towards the stuff as often as possible! She enjoys skiing and tries really hard to snowboard, but often makes a nice little area to sit while everyone zips by on their board. She enjoys writing, and she also loves to read just about anything with print.

My Thoughts:

I read Lonely Souls (book one). This book is appropriate for all ages. I have to say that I Love all three covers. The fact that the colors are mostly dull with just a hint of color, makes them all the more brilliant!

What a spell binding adventure! From the first page to the last not a dull moment can be found.

In this book, Triss finds out some family history that isn't flattering. She has a mystery to figure out. She needs to determine every one's true intentions. And she needs to determine if she will open her heart to love or not! This is just the tip of the iceberg so to speak. I told you, not a dull moment!

If you haven't already figured it out, in Lonely Souls you will find witches (both good and bad), suspense, danger, creepy creatures, spell-tastic action, mystery, and romance.

I recommend this book to all paranormal romance readers, those who like witch books, or those who  just want a gripping, face paced, fantastic book to read. My only regret is that I didn't read it sooner. Now I need to get the next two books and read them!

I received a copy of this book from AToMR in exchange for my honest opinion. I honestly loved every minute of it! :-)

I received some swag from Karice and it is AWESOME! There were soaps and beautiful book marks. Thank you Karice!

Lonely Souls is FREE on Amazon!

There are two giveaways! A Grand Prize Giveaway (the top one) and a second chance one so to speak.

Here's an excerpt:

Maybe, just maybe this could work out. Gawd, was he temptation personified. The notion of running her fingers over his forged-of-steel muscles had Susie salivating.

“I don’t want your friendship. That involves emotions. Now, there is an arrangement I might go for. The kind that involves a certain type of buddy.”

The grin that swept his mouth showcased the type of dimples clean-cut Ralph Lauren male models claimed, and gave him a boyish air she would never have associated with his menacing, mercenary, razor toughness.

He cupped her elbow and urged her around the corner and onto Birch Close.

“You’re preaching to the converted, sweetness. I’d say we have ourselves the makings of a—”

His nostrils flared.

His gaze went distant.

He lifted his head.

Susie’s stomach clenched.

Predatory couldn’t begin to describe the hunter stance he assumed in a heartbeat—legs spread wide, hands jammed on lean hips, eyes narrowed. He sniffed and whipped his head to the left.

“Gas. I smell gas. Are you sure you turned off the tanks?” He met her stare full on.

She resisted the urge to smack him. Gas? She’d all but asked him to screw her, and he asked about gas? She inhaled and smelled nothing but the metallic aroma of asphalt baking under a semitropical sun.

He shook her. “Think. Did you lock the tank?”

She dashed his hands away. “Of course I did. I am not some simpering female. We’ve had a gas stove all my life. I know the rules. I disconnected the old tank, screwed the valve shut, and took it to the laundry room. I never even opened the valve on the new one because—”

“Crap. It is gas. And damned if it’s not going to blow any minute.” He’d turned around, poised to take off.

Susie backtracked. “I disconnected everything when I couldn’t figure out how to switch the tanks around. And how in heck can you smell gas from here?”

The boom thundered between them, an explosion so loud and so unexpected they both jumped.

“Jesus!”

He took off like a horse taking the final curve in the Belmont.

Susie sprinted after him. Raced to catch his wide-legged stride, panting to keep up with his pace, until, until…

Shit. Terri’s house had blown up.

Her arms plopped to her sides. She stood there following the leaping blue and yellow plumes, watching the points flare and sizzle, her mouth hanging open, too stunned to move an inch.

Terri’s cute little bungalow was on fire.

Correction—the house was consumed by fire. The porch was ablaze, the quaint milk cans with their nostalgic petunias and ivies charcoaled and crumpled in a slow dance of destruction. A conflagration of vaulting flames attacked the front door, the walls, the charming carved white window frames, as she stood there unable to budge.

This couldn’t be happening. She shook her head. No way.

Just a few weeks ago she’d left Chabegawn, Michigan, on the first real adventure of her life—college, and being on her own. Claiming her own space, doing all the college stuff she’d always dreamed about: sororities, football games, and intellectual challenges. Okay, she was older than most of the other students, but not by decades. This was her chance to spread her wings, to seek out new experiences, to push herself to the max, to throw out all the nasty small-town restrictions she’d dealt with for twenty-five years.

It wasn’t supposed to begin with a fire.

Everything she owned was in there.

The five hundred dollars she’d withdrawn from the bank to shop for groceries and other household items. She’d left the money in the drawer in the laundry room.

Maybe the back was better than the front.

Susie took off.

She hadn’t run far before Joe corralled her, crossed his arms around her, and hauled her tight against his chest. “Where in hell do you think you’re going?”

She elbowed him. “To the back door. Let me go.”

“Don’t be stupid.”

She wriggled and kicked at him, but he held her fast.

“The whole property’s a fire trap. It’s—”

The howling of multiple vehicles drowned his voice.

My Thoughts:

This thrillingly exciting scorching hot read began with a bang. It was fast paced and had no slow parts to be seen! It definitely needs to be read by adults only!

Susie has a life plan and a motto "Alpha Me Not!" Too bad for her that Joe is an Alpha and he has his sights set on her, or is it? Could she have possibly been mistaken about not wanting or needing an Alpha?

The plot had werewolves, danger, missing children, a sick killer, romance, hot steamy scenes, mystery, and some twists and turns.

I really liked Alpha Me Not. It is the third book in this series but can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read the previous books yet but I had no problem understanding it. :-)

I recommend this book to all those who like really hot werewolf reads. ;-)

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I honestly liked it a lot and thought it was super exciting!
